However you reach the coast, every trip ends the same way — a boat out to Netrani Island. Here's how to get to Murudeshwar from wherever you're starting.
Pick your route
By train, air, or road.
Two stations nearby
Gokarna Road connects to Bangalore, Karwar, and Mumbai. Ankola sees more traffic — Mumbai, Bangalore, Goa, and South Indian cities. From either station: auto-rickshaw, taxi, or bus onward to Murudeshwar.
Fly into Goa
Dabolim (Goa International) is the nearest airport. From there, it's a cab, taxi, bus, or train onward — most visitors connect via Goa's rail links toward Gokarna Road station.
Drive or take a bus
State and private buses run both routes, or self-drive if you'd rather stop along the way. Have your vehicle serviced before a long haul — the coastal roads have long unbroken stretches.
When to come
October through March.
Winter (Nov–Feb) brings crystal-clear, calm water — the reef at its most visible. Air temperatures through the season sit between 14–32°C. It's peak season, so book your travel and your dive slot ahead of time.

- Book your train, bus, or flight in advance — this is peak season for the whole coast, not just for diving.
- Check road conditions if you're driving, especially just before or after monsoon.
- Time your arrival for the evening before your dive — boats leave the jetty early morning.
- Self-driving? Have your vehicle serviced first — it's a long, unbroken coastal route.

10km away, reached by a 30–40 minute ferry across the Aghanashini River — worth the detour if you have a spare afternoon.
